Three, including child, killed in separate incidents in Deir ez-Zor

DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – Three people, including a child, were killed on Friday in separate shooting incidents across the countryside of Deir ez-Zor Governorate, eastern Syria, local sources reported.

A source from the town of al-Dwair, in eastern Deir ez-Zor, told North Press that unidentified gunmen on a motorcycle opened fire on Mohammed al-Aboud with Kalashnikov rifles in front of his house, killing him instantly.

The source said al-Aboud was a former member of the National Defense Forces (NDF), a militia affiliated with the al-Assad regime.

In a separate incident, 38-year-old Khalaf al-Nahab was shot dead late Friday night by unidentified gunmen on a motorcycle in the town of Abu Hamam, also in eastern Deir ez-Zor.

According to the same source, al-Nahab worked as a technician responsible for maintaining the town’s electricity generators.

Meanwhile, in the town of al-Tekihi, north of Deir ez-Zor, eight-year-old Younis al-Faraj was killed by a stray bullet that struck him while he was asleep at home, residents told North Press.
