British officials discuss Kurdish equality, freedom with SDC delegation

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – British MP Stephen Yemm told North Press on Thursday that a meeting was held with a delegation from the Syrian Democratic Council (SDC) on the sidelines of the ruling Labor Party’s conference to discuss Kurdish equality and freedom in addition to fair and lasting solutions to issues in northern Syria.

Yemm said that the discussions covered the Kurdish issue, public freedoms, and developments on the ground, noting that these matters will be brought before the British Parliament and Foreign Office for further in-depth deliberation.

He added that they aim to push toward fair solutions and a more stable future for the region.

Earlier this week, the SDC delegation met with several senior British officials, including Prime Minister Keir Starmer and Defense Secretary John Healey, during the annual Labor Party conference, where both sides discussed key issues related to Syria.

Masoud Kasso, member of the SDC’ Relations Office in London, told North Press that the message expressed the SDF’s firm commitment to peace and its vision for a united and democratic Syria that belongs to all its citizens, free from exclusion or domination.
