SDF, Coalition forces capture 2 ISIS members in Deir ez-Zor
DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), backed by the U.S.-led Global Coalition, captured on Tuesday two members of the Islamic State (ISIS) during a joint security operation in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor, eastern Syria.
A military source from the SDF told North Press that at dawn, SDF units, supported by Coalition helicopters and ground troops, carried out a coordinated raid in the town of Shuhail.
The source confirmed that the operation resulted in the arrest of Majed al-Bouri and Azab al-Hassoun, both wanted for their affiliation with ISIS and suspected involvement in terrorist activities in the region.
He added that the mission was conducted based on prior intelligence and close coordination between the SDF and Coalition forces as part of ongoing efforts to pursue ISIS sleeper cells and ensure stability in Deir ez-Zor.
