One security forces injured in bomb disposal in Damascus countryside
DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – The Ministry of Interior of the Syrian Transitional Government announced on Saturday that a member of its engineering teams was injured while attempting to dismantle an improvised explosive device (IED) planted beneath a vehicle in Jdeidet Artooz town, western Damascus countryside.
In a statement, the Ministry said: “Engineering teams headed to Jdeidet Artooz following a report from a local resident about an IED planted under a civilian pickup truck.”
It added: “During the attempt to dismantle the explosive device, it detonated, injuring one of the team members with varying degrees of wounds.
In August, a similar incident occurred when an IED detonated inside a parked car near the entrance of al-Mazzeh 86 neighborhood in Damascus, causing material damage without human casualties.
Incidents involving IEDs remain a security concern in Damascus countryside, underscoring the risks faced by security forces engaged in counterterrorism and public safety operations.
