Syrian Interior Ministry seizes cannabis in Daraa countryside
DARAA, Syria (North Press) – The Syrian Ministry of Interior announced on Wednesday that its Anti-Narcotics Department in Daraa, in coordination with Internal Security forces, carried out a raid in the eastern countryside of Daraa, seizing a large quantity of cannabis.
In a statement published on its Telegram channel, the ministry said the operation uncovered 118 kilograms of cannabis buried underground.
Authorities confirmed that one individual was arrested during the raid and referred to the competent judicial authorities.
The ministry emphasized that operations to combat narcotics will continue in coordination with security units, targeting trafficking and cultivation networks in southern Syria.
The seizure is the latest in a series of counter-narcotics operations across the country, as security forces continue efforts to dismantle drug-related networks and prevent distribution.
