Al-Shara meets Turkish Intelligence Chief in Damascus
DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – Syrian President Ahmed al-Shara met on Wednesday with Turkish Intelligence Chief Ibrahim Kalın in Damascus to discuss regional and Syrian affairs, including the March 10 agreement with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).
Kalın arrived earlier in the day in Damascus for the scheduled meeting with President al-Shara. The visit follows a statement from the Turkish Foreign Ministry welcoming the recently announced roadmap aimed at maintaining peace, strengthening stability, and preventing the resurgence of conflict in Suwayda, southern Syria.
According to the state-run SANA agency, the meeting focused on regional developments and the implementation of the agreement with the SDF leadership, signed on March 10, emphasizing Syria’s territorial integrity and unity.
The March 10 agreement, reached with the SDF, remains a key framework for coordination on security and governance in northeast Syria. It underscores the ongoing efforts to maintain stability while addressing local and regional security challenges.
Officials confirmed that both sides reiterated their commitment to continuing dialogue on regional issues and the implementation of measures outlined in the agreement. No further details were disclosed regarding specific security or political arrangements.
