Israeli army says it neutralized threats to its operations in Syria
DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – Israeli Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir announced on Wednesday that the Israeli army had thwarted capabilities that posed a threat to its freedom of action in Syria.
The statement came two days after Israeli warplanes carried out airstrikes targeting military sites in the countryside of Homs and Latakia, though no confirmed information has yet been released regarding the extent of losses.
An Israeli security source said on Tuesday that the warehouses and equipment hit in the strikes were of Turkish origin and had recently been transferred to Homs.
Speaking at the graduation ceremony of the 151st class of naval officers, Zamir said, “In recent days we have witnessed attacks across multiple fronts simultaneously.”
He stressed, “The long arm of the Israeli army will reach every arena and will cut off the hands of all our enemies in the Middle East.”
The remarks reflect continued Israeli operations in Syria, where Israel frequently targets what it says are military installations and weapons shipments intended for groups hostile to it.
