Coalition forces carry out joint military drills with SDF in NE Syria

HASKAH, Syria (North Press) – The U.S.-led Global Coalition base in the northern countryside of Hasakah, northeastern Syria, witnessed on Wednesday evening joint military exercises between Coalition forces and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).

North Press correspondent reported that the area around the Qasrak base near the town of Tel Tamr resounded with the noise of drones, successive explosions, and heavy gunfire during the drills.

This was the second such exercise at the base in the same week, following similar maneuvers conducted on Aug. 25.

On Thursday morning, the Joint Task Force of Operation Inherent Resolve announced that “This training exercise focused on close air support procedures to ensure Harmonization between Partner Forces and Coalition forces.”

The statement added that the drills “allow Coalition members to be effective by mentoring, developing, and building partner capacities and capabilities.”
