QUNEITRA, Syria (North Press) – Israeli forces carried out a new ground incursion on Sunday into the villages of Burayqa and Be’er Ajam in the southern countryside of Quneitra, seizing a Syrian state security outpost. The forces remain stationed there at the time of reporting.

A local source told North Press that the latest advance is considered “the most serious” since Israeli incursions began in southern Syria.

According to the source, the Israeli unit stormed the Public Security outpost in Burayqa village, confiscating a mobile phone and a motorcycle belonging to one of the officers before taking full control of the building and ordering personnel to vacate the premises.

The source confirmed that this is the first time Israeli troops have entered facilities linked to the Syrian state in the Quneitra countryside, raising concerns about the potential expansion of such operations near the disengagement line.

The area borders the ceasefire line established under the 1974 disengagement agreement between Syria and Israel, where tensions have periodically flared in recent years.
