Asayish arrest 3 individuals in Raqqa for drug trafficking
RAQQA, Syria (North Press) – The Internal Security Forces of North and East Syria (Asayish) announced on Saturday the arrest of three individuals on charges of drug possession and trafficking in the city of Raqqa, northern Syria.
In an official statement, the Asayish said that its Counter-Narcotics Unit apprehended the suspects on July 30, following intelligence-led surveillance and investigation.
“The arrests were made after a period of careful monitoring and security follow-up, which led to the seizure of a quantity of narcotic pills in the suspects’ possession,” the statement noted.
According to the statement, the confiscated drugs included 408 captagon tablets and 110 other assorted pills with narcotic effects.
The three detainees have been referred to the relevant judicial authorities for further legal proceedings.
