Israeli forces withdraw after one-hour incursion in Syria’s Quneitra
QUNEITRA, Syria (North Press) – An Israeli ground force withdrew on Friday evening after carrying out a one-hour incursion into Quneitra Governorate, near the Syrian-Israeli border.
Local sources in Quneitra told North Press that an Israeli infantry unit, comprising approximately 50 soldiers, advanced into the Abu Madhra farms area in the southern countryside of Quneitra.
During the operation, the Israeli troops reportedly searched several homes and agricultural properties.
The incursion lasted for about an hour before the force withdrew without making any arrests or confiscating property, according to the sources.
No official Israeli or Syrian statements have been issued regarding the operation.
The same local sources noted that such incursions have become increasingly frequent since the fall of the previous Syrian regime.
They added that dozens of residents—including children—have been detained in similar operations in recent years.
