Medical shortages raise fears of epidemic in Syria’s Suwayda
SUWAYDA, Syria (North Press) – Field sources told North Press on Sunday that Suwayda National Hospital, southern Syria, is facing catastrophic conditions, warning of the potential spread of disease in its surroundings.
According to the sources, “the hospital’s gardens are filled with decomposing bodies, emitting foul odors and posing a serious public health risk.”
They also noted that the facility “lacks even the most basic medical supplies and equipment, leaving it unable to respond to urgent needs.”
The sources added that local factions in Suwayda allowed part of the Syrian Arab Red Crescent convoy to enter the city, but blocked the entry of an accompanying government delegation.
