AANES official praises US, France role in dialogue with Syrian government

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – A senior official of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) praised on Sunday the roles of France and the United States in facilitating dialogue with the Syrian transitional government.

Ilham Ahmad, co-chair of the Foreign Relations Department of the AANES, stated on “X” in Arabic, “We appreciate the continued support of the United States and France for a political solution in Syria and their efforts to bridging viewpoints among Syrians.”

Last week, an AANES delegation held a meeting with Syrian government officials in Damascus, with the participation of representatives from the U.S. and France.

Ahmad also expressed concern over inflammatory rhetoric. “However, we view with concern the escalation of hate speech and accusations of betrayal in some statements issued by official entities.”

She emphasized the need to protect the dialogue process, adding, “We rely on a constructive role that strengthens dialogue, not weakens it.”
