Unidentified gunmen kill former NDF member in Deir ez-Zor
DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – Unidentified gunmen killed on Wednesday a former member of the National Defense Forces (NDF) affiliated with the al-Assad regime in the countryside of Deir ez-Zor, eastern Syria.
A local source told North Press that unidentified gunmen on a motorcycle opened fire with a pistol on a young man, Muhammad al-Zuaiter, in front of his house in the town of Sabikhan, in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor.
According to the source, al-Zuaiter died instantly, while the attackers fled the scene.
The source added that al-Zuaiter had previously served in the NDF and later resolved his military status with the Syrian transitional government following the fall of the al-Assad regime.
