Armed assailants target SDF base in Deir ez-Zor, 2 fighters injured
DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – Unidentified gunmen launched two separate attacks targeting the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) on Monday evening in the eastern and western countryside of Deir ez-Zor, eastern Syria.
A military source close to the SDF in Deir ez-Zor told North Press that the first incident occurred near the Al-Layeth neighborhood in the town of Abu Hamam, where gunmen opened fire with automatic weapons on an SDF military outpost.
According to the source, SDF personnel at the site managed to repel the attack and return fire, forcing the assailants to flee.
In a separate incident in the town of Al-Hissan, located in the western countryside of Deir ez-Zor, two unidentified gunmen on a motorcycle opened fire on two SDF fighters, injuring both. The wounded personnel were transferred to a local field hospital for treatment.
