Landmine blast injures three people in Syria’s Homs

HOMS, Syria (North Press) – Three civilians, including a woman, were injured on Monday when a landmine—left behind from previous fighting—exploded north of the city of Homs, central Syria.

Awad al-Darwish, one of the wounded’s brother, told North Press that the blast occurred in the village of Deir Ful as the group was clearing agricultural land. The land had been left untended for years while the area’s residents were displaced in camps in northern Syria.

Among the injured was a woman in her thirties who suffered a severe injury, resulting in the amputation of her right foot, al-Darwish said.

He also noted that villagers were forced to transport the wounded to Homs National Hospital themselves, as the Civil Defense team arrived more than an hour after the explosion.
