U.S. warns against travel to Syria amid ongoing “terrorist violence”

DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – The U.S. State Department issued on Tuesday a renewed warning, urging American citizens to avoid travel to Syria due to the persistent risk of terrorist violence and an unstable security environment.

“There is an ongoing risk of terrorist violence in Syria,” the Department said in a post on its X platform. “The U.S. Department of State strongly recommends that U.S. citizens not travel to Syria.”

The statement also highlighted that Syrian airspace remains closed to civilian aviation, further complicating potential exit options by air.

For those currently in Syria, the Department advised that land border crossings into Lebanon or Jordan may offer alternative routes for departure.
