Israeli airstrikes on Iran kill 224, injure 1,000

DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – At least 224 people killed and over 1,000 others injured in recent Israeli airstrikes targeting various locations across Iran, according to a statement by the Iranian Ministry of Health on Saturday.

Israel targeting nuclear facilities, military sites, cities, and oil fields across the country. Israeli officials described the operation as a series of “preemptive strikes” aimed at halting Iran’s alleged expansion of its nuclear capabilities.

Hosein Kermanpour, Director of Public Relations and Media at the Ministry of Health, reported that the total number of casualties from what he called “Israeli aggression” has reached 1,481.

Among them, 1,277 have been hospitalized in university-affiliated medical centers, with more than 90 percent of those injured identified as civilians.

Kermanpour stated on social media that 522 people have since been discharged from hospitals after receiving treatment, while the death toll includes 224 individuals—men, women, and children.

He appealed to the international community, particularly Persian-speaking medical professionals worldwide, to take urgent action to stop what he described as “a genocide against civilians.”

Israeli airstrikes reportedly continued on Sunday, with further attacks on government facilities and residential neighborhoods in Tehran. In response, Iran launched hundreds of missiles and drones toward Israel.
