Israeli forces conduct raid in Syrian village, kill one, detain several
DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – Israeli Army Radio reported on Thursday that troops from the Alexandroni Reserve Brigade concluded a military operation in the Syrian village of Beit Jinn, located less than 20 kilometers from Quneitra Governorate and approximately 50 kilometers southwest of the capital, Damascus.
According to the report, Israeli forces arrested several individuals suspected of involvement in what it described as “terrorist activities.”
Earlier in the day, local sources told North Press that a Syrian man was shot and killed by Israeli forces during the operation in the western countryside of Damascus.
The sources identified the deceased as Mohammad Ahmad Hamadeh, who was reportedly killed following an incursion by Israeli troops into Beit Jinn.
The same sources added that Israeli forces detained multiple individuals during the raid, including Ali Qasem Hamadeh, Mohammad Badi’ Hamadeh, Ma’moun al-Saadi, Hossam al-Safadi, Ahmad al-Safadi, Mohammad al-Safadi, and Amer al-Badawi, before transferring them into Israeli-controlled territory.
This marks the first known instance in which the Israeli military has detained Syrian nationals during a cross-border ground operation.
