Iran threatens to target U.S. bases in region if nuclear talks fail

DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – Iran issued on Wednesday a stern warning, threatening to strike U.S. military bases in the region if a military confrontation with the United States erupts following the collapse of nuclear negotiations.

“If nuclear talks fail and conflict breaks out with the United States, Iran will target American bases in the region,” Iranian Defence Minister Aziz Nasirzadeh said, according to Iran’s Tasnim News Agency.

Nasirzadeh added that “the latest threats issued by our enemies will not go unanswered,” emphasizing Tehran’s readiness for any potential escalation.

He also highlighted Iran’s military preparedness, noting that operational units are fully equipped and recently conducted a successful test of a missile carrying a two-ton warhead.

The threat comes just days ahead of the anticipated sixth round of nuclear negotiations between Iran and the United States, amid growing regional and international tensions.
