Armed attack kills 2 people in Syria’s Homs

DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – The Internal Security forces announced on Tuesday that two people were killed and others injured in an attack by unidentified gunmen in the western countryside of Homs, central Syria.

The Head of Internal Security in Homs, Muhannad al-Naasan, stated that authorities have launched an investigation into the incident that occurred in the Talkalakh area.

He noted that security services have uncovered attempts on social media to incite public opinion and provoke tensions in the region under the pretext of revenge. This prompted immediate coordination with local dignitaries to prevent escalation and maintain stability, he added.

In a statement shared on the official channels of the Homs Governorate, al-Naasan emphasized that the pursuit of those responsible is ongoing and that all perpetrators will be brought to justice.

The Syrian Ministry of Interior confirmed that the attack occurred just hours after the Internal Security Directorate in Talkalakh had arrested “a number of outlaws” and uncovered a weapons depot.

The ministry said the seized cache included Katyusha rockets, small arms, and various types of ammunition.
