SDF forces capture ISIS cell member in Syria’s Qamishli
HASAKAH, Syria (North Press) – The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) announced on Tuesday the capture of a member of the Islamic State (ISIS) cells in the countryside of Qamishli, northeastern Syria.
The SDF said in a statement that with the participation of the U.S.-led Global Coalition, its forces carried out a special security operation on May 22, capturing a member of an ISIS cell in the town of al-Ya’rubiyah (Tel Kocher).
The statement added that the operation took place after SDF forces monitored the movements and activities of the so-called Wadhah Marwan Taeisan, nicknamed al-Audah, who hails from the town of Tel Kocher itself.
It noted that Wadhah confessed during the investigation that he was active in the field of advocacy and media, and was using many Telegram accounts belonging to ISIS, promoting the group’s ideas, spreading them, and calling on young people to join its ranks.
