Israeli forces continue bulldozing operations in southern Syria
QUNEITRA, Syria (North Press) – Israeli forces continued on Tuesday bulldozing operations for the third time in recent days in the Quneitra countryside, southern Syria, raising concerns among residents about the possible establishment of a new military post in the area.
A local source told North Press that Israeli bulldozers cleared large sections of the al-Shahar forest, suggesting the activity may be part of plans to set up a military point—similar to previous installations along the border strip.
According to the source, an Israeli patrol composed of three military vehicles and more than twenty soldiers entered the village of al-Rafid in southern Quneitra, where they set up a temporary checkpoint.
Soldiers stopped and searched residents—both pedestrians and those in vehicles, the source noted.
Witnesses said that the searches were intrusive, with some residents being forced to remove their clothing before the patrol withdrew back into the Golan Heights.
