Landmine blast kill 2 men in Deir ez-Zor

DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – A landmine explosion killed on Wednesday two young men in the countryside of Deir ez-Zor, eastern Syria.

A local source told North Press that the incident took place in the village of al-Merei’iyah, where the victims—Ahmad Adnan Jumaa al-Gharb and Ahmad Basel al-Dughaim—were killed instantly at the site of the blast.

The source added that the explosion occurred near the victims’ home, amid a growing number of landmine incidents in eastern Syria in recent weeks.

Earlier on the same day, three children sustained serious injuries after tampering with an unexploded ordnance in the town of Al-Asharah.
