Lebanon receives suspect in killing of Lebanese official from Syria

DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – The Lebanese army announced on Saturday that Syrian authorities had handed over a key suspect involved in the killing of Pascal Sleiman, a senior official in the Lebanese Forces party, who was murdered last year.

The army said that following coordination with Syrian authorities, they received one of the primary suspects involved in the abduction and murder of Pascal Sleiman.

The statement noted that the suspect is the leader of a criminal gang involved in kidnapping, theft, and document forgery, and is the subject of multiple outstanding arrest warrants. The army confirmed that investigations are currently underway.

Pascal Sleiman, who served as the coordinator for the Christian Lebanese Forces party, was abducted in April 2024 from the Jbeil area, north of Beirut. He was later found murdered.

At the time, the Lebanese army said that Sleiman was killed during a car theft operation carried out by members of a Syrian gang, who subsequently transported his body across the border into Syria.
