U.N. receives aid shipment in Gaza amid siege

DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – The United Nations announced on Wednesday that its teams had received humanitarian aid equivalent to 90 truckloads in the Gaza Strip — the first such delivery in more than two and a half months since Israel imposed a full blockade on the territory.

The U.N. stated that it has begun dispatching the aid to various areas across Gaza for distribution to those in need.

Earlier, the Israeli army confirmed that it had permitted 100 aid trucks carrying flour, baby formula, and medical supplies to enter the Strip.

However, U.N. officials noted that logistical challenges have so far prevented any of the aid from reaching the affected population.

No assistance has been distributed to those in need in Gaza yet, the U.N. added.
