American policy must prioritize stability in Syria, region – U.S. Senator

DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – U.S. Senator emphasized on Monday that achieving stability in Syria and the broader region should be a key priority of American foreign policy.

In a post on the social platform X, the Democratic senator Elizabeth Warren voiced strong criticism of the negative effects U.S. sanctions are having on the Syrian people.

“Stability in Syria and the region is supposed to be a goal for our nation.”

“Our broad, outdated sanctions are impacting Syria’s health care system,” Warren noted.

She also revealed that she is spearheading a bipartisan initiative alongside Republican Senator Joe Wilson, urging the U.S. administration to reconsider its current approach.

On the same day, U.S. President Donald Trump announced that he is considering easing sanctions on Syria, signaling a potential policy shift.
