ANKARA, Turkey (North Press) – Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said on Monday that Turkey will support Syria’s new administration in addressing its pressing challenges, particularly Israeli threats and terrorist organizations.

Speaking at a joint press conference in Ankara with Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shibani and Jordanian counterpart Ayman Safadi, Fidan emphasized Ankara’s commitment to Syria’s stability.

“As Syria’s neighbors, we must contribute to resolving the issues it faces,” Fidan said. “We have repeatedly affirmed our continued support for the new Syrian administration.”

He pointed to Israeli actions as a primary concern: “One of the greatest threats facing Syria is Israel’s ongoing aggression and expansionist policies. These threats must be stopped.”

The Turkish minister also revealed that the tripartite meeting addressed the issue of international sanctions still imposed on Syria since the era of the previous regime, urging their removal to aid reconstruction and normalization.
