Pakistani army reports 26 killed in Indian strikes

DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – The Pakistani military announced on Wednesday that 26 people were killed in a series of 24 airstrikes carried out by the Indian army on six locations inside Pakistan.

The airstrikes also left approximately 30 others injured, with several reported missing.

The escalation follows a series of missile strikes launched by India on Tuesday evening, which New Delhi claimed targeted “terrorist infrastructure” in Pakistani territory.

These strikes were said to be in retaliation for an attack that occurred in Indian-administered Kashmir on April 22.

In response, the Indian army accused Pakistan of violating the ceasefire agreement by conducting artillery shelling on the Indian-administered Kashmir sectors of Bhimber Gali and Poonch Rajouri.

In a statement posted on X Platform, the Indian military said it had issued a “measured and appropriate response” to the shelling.

Meanwhile, a spokesperson for the Pakistani army condemned the Indian strikes and vowed a “firm and comprehensive” response.

He added that Pakistani defenses had shot down multiple Indian aircraft during the exchange, including three Rafale jets, one Su-30, and one MiG-29, according to comments cited by Reuters.
