Israeli airstrikes target military sites across Syria
DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – Israeli warplanes launched on Friday a series of airstrikes on military sites across Syria, marking a notable escalation in regional tensions.
One of the strikes targeted the vicinity of Mount Qasioun in the capital, Damascus, while another hit the Regiment 175 near the city of Izraa in Daraa Governorate.
In addition, Israeli warplanes carried out two separate strikes on an air defense battalion north of Izraa, in the northern countryside of Daraa.
Similar air raids were reported in Hama Governorate, resulting in four injuries, according to Syria’s state-run news agency, SANA.
On the same day, Israel’s public broadcaster reported that the Israeli military is preparing to expand its campaign in Syria, with plans to target additional sites, including both military installations and facilities linked to the Syrian government.
Earlier on Friday, the Israeli army released a statement confirming it had struck “military positions, anti-aircraft guns, and missile infrastructure in Syria.”
This wave of attacks comes shortly after a warning issued by Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz on Thursday to Syria’s Transitional President, Ahmad al-Sharaa.
Katz condemned ongoing assaults against the Druze community in Syria and warned that if such attacks continue, Israel would respond with “greater force.”
