Lebanese forces foil attempt to smuggle 27 Syrians by sea

DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – The Lebanese forces announced on Monday that they had foiled an attempt to smuggle 27 Syrians by sea off the northern coast of Lebanon.

In a statement, the Lebanese forces said that a patrol from the naval forces intercepted and prevented the illegal smuggling of 27 Syrians near the Arida coast.

The statement also noted that Lebanese units arrested seven Lebanese citizens and one Syrian national in eastern Lebanon and Mount Lebanon, seizing weapons and ammunition in their possession.

The statement emphasized that Lebanese security forces are intensifying efforts to combat human smuggling and are actively pursuing and arresting individuals who facilitate the practice in exchange for money.
