Armed attack kills 5 SDF fighters in Deir ez-Zor
DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – Five fighters of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) were killed and three others wounded on Monday following an armed attack on their vehicle in a town west of Deir ez-Zor, eastern Syria.
A military source told North Press that unknown gunmen on a motorcycle opened fire with a machine gun at an SDF military vehicle near a post in the town of Jazrat al-Buhamid, in the western countryside of Deir ez-Zor.
The source added that the attack resulted in the deaths of five SDF fighters and left three others injured.
They noted that two of the wounded are in critical condition, and that the two masked attackers fled toward the desert surrounding the town. So far, the SDF has not issued an official statement regarding the incident.
