Locals discover unidentified mass grave in Deir ez-Zor
DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – Residents of a town west of Deir ez-Zor in eastern Syria discovered on Sunday a mass grave containing three unidentified bodies.
A local source told North Press that residents found the remains on the outskirts of the al-Tebni desert. The three individuals had reportedly been shot and killed under mysterious circumstances.
The source added that, based on the advanced state of decomposition, the deaths likely occurred more than two months ago.
Unable to identify the bodies, residents transferred them to the town cemetery for proper burial, the source said.
