Kurdish Unity Conference marks step toward unified Syria – AANES

RAQQA, Syria (North Press) – The Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) affirmed on Monday that the recent Kurdish Unity Conference marks an important step toward building a unified Syria founded on solid democratic principles.

In its statement, the AANES emphasized that these democratic foundations would help create a homeland where all citizens can take pride in their full patriotism without the denial of any of their rights.

The statement also reaffirmed the AANES’ commitment to continuing dialogue with the transitional government, aiming to strengthen the rights of all Syrian communities.

“We look forward with great hope and determination to unifying the ranks of Syria’s diverse components, in a way that facilitates a smoother transitional process and supports the efforts of the dialogue committees toward drafting a new constitution and ushering in a new era for Syria,” the statement added.

On Sunday, the Syrian Presidency stated that recent moves and statements by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) contradict the agreement previously signed with Syrian Transitional President Ahmad al-Sharaa.
