Barzani stresses unity to achieve solution for Kurdish issue in Syria

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Kurdish leader Masoud Barzani emphasized on Saturday the importance of Kurdish unity in achieving a just resolution to the Kurdish issue in Syria, in a message to the Kurdish Unity Conference held in the city of Qamishli.

The message was delivered by Hamid Darbandi, the public relations officer in the Presidency of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRI), during his speech at the conference.

Barzani expressed his gratitude to Mazloum Abdi, Commander in Chief of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), for his efforts in making the conference possible.

He underlined that “the Kurds in Syria have long faced denial and injustice,” and affirmed his support for “a new Syria that guarantees the rights of all its components.”

Barzani further stressed that “the formation of a unified Kurdish delegation is a crucial step toward securing Kurdish rights,” and highlighted “the importance of strengthening relations with other communities in Syria.”
