Kurdish unity strengthens Syria – Mazloum Abdi

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Commander-in-Chief of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), General Mazloum Abdi, affirmed on Saturday that Kurdish unity does not imply the division of Syria; rather, it reinforces the country’s cohesion.

Speaking during the opening of the Kurdish Unity Conference, Abdi stated, “In the new Syria, the rights of the Kurds must be guaranteed. This is our fundamental demand.”

He further emphasized, “Kurdish unity is Syrian unity, and the strength of the Kurds is a strength for Syria.”

Abdi stressed that Kurds have long struggled to preserve Syria’s territorial integrity.

Abdi highlighted that efforts to promote Kurdish unity have been ongoing for a long time, underscoring the need for a decentralized constitution that represents all components of Syrian society in the future.

“It is our duty to safeguard the achievements made in northeastern Syria and to strengthen diversity and the rights of all communities,” he added.
