U.S. welcomes Kurdish unity conference in Syria

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – The United States welcomed on Saturday the conference on unifying the Kurdish position, scheduled to be held in Qamishli city in northeastern Syria.

An official of the U.S. Department of State, said, “The United States welcomes the resumption of the intra-Kurdish dialogue and looks forward to its continued progress.”

On April 22, Mazloum Abdi, Commander-in-Chief of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), announced that the Kurdish Unity Conference will take place on Saturday, April 26.

The conference will be attended by Hamid Darbandi, Head of the Public Relations Department in the Presidency of the Kurdistan Region, representatives of the Kurdistan Union Party (PUK), and a delegate from the Peoples’ Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Parti), in addition to delegates from other regions of Syria.
