SDF’s Abdi announces date for Kurdish Unity Conference in Syria
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Mazloum Abdi, Commander in Chief of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), announced on Tuesday that the Kurdish Unity Conference in Syria has been scheduled for April 26.
In a post on the X platform, Abdi stated that the conference on unifying the Kurdish position in “Rojava” will take place on April 26.
He emphasized that Kurdish unity is a national imperative for addressing the Kurdish issue in Syria and expressed hope that all parties will shoulder their national responsibilities.
Abdi also thanked all those who supported the initiative, wishing the conference every success.
Meanwhile, the Kurdish National Council in Syria (ENKS) confirmed that an agreement had been reached on the date for holding the conference aimed at unifying the Kurdish stance.
In a statement obtained by North Press, the Council said “This achievement reflects the will of our Kurdish people and the relentless efforts of loyal fighters, backed by generous support from our brothers and friends—most notably President Masoud Barzani and our brother, General Mazloum Abdi.”
The statement added, “We hope this conference will mark a turning point toward a new phase of constructive cooperation among the parties of the Kurdish political movement. It should strengthen public trust and pave the way for stronger national ties with all components of the Syrian people.”
The Council also stressed that unifying the Kurdish position is a pressing national need and a vital step toward building genuine partnership in shaping a democratic, pluralistic Syria—one that embraces all its citizens with harmony, equality, and peace.
