DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – Landmine explosions in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor, eastern Syria, killed on Sunday two individuals and injured two others.
A local source said that a landmine detonated beneath a tractor while it was working on farmland near the outskirts of the al-Hari desert in the countryside of Abu Kamal.
The explosion killed Abdul Aziz al-Rajaa and injured two of his relatives who were accompanying him. The tractor was also destroyed in the explosion.
In a separate incident, a child identified as Sand Hamid al-Subhi al-Okla was killed in the town of al-Suwayiyah, also in the east of Deir ez-Zor, after stepping on a landmine believed to be left behind by Iranian-backed militias in the surrounding desert.
