Asayish capture 16 ISIS operatives in NE Syria Hawl Camp

HASAKAH, Syria (North Press) – The Internal Security Forces of North and East Syria (Asayish) announced on Saturday the capture of 16 members of Islamic State (ISIS) sleeper cells during a security operation in Hawl Camp in northeastern Syria.

In a statement, the Asayish said they apprehended16 ISIS operatives on the second day of the operation in Hawl Camp during sweep and search operations.

On Friday morning, the Asayish and the Women’s Protection Units, operating under the umbrella of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and supported by the U.S.-led Global Coalition, launched a large-scale security campaign targeting ISIS affiliates in and around the camp.

The statement also confirmed the seizure of weapons and a significant amount of ammunition during the raids.
