Iraqi forces capture 4 ISIS members, including senior leader, in Saladin

DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – The Military Intelligence Agency announced on Monday the arrest of four members of the Islamic State (ISIS), including a high-ranking leader, in Saladin Governorate, central Iraq.

In an official statement, the agency said that counter-terrorism units in Saladin successfully apprehended four ISIS operatives, one of whom was identified as the so-called “Wali al-Shar’i” of the Suleiman Bek sector.

The statement added that the operation was conducted following the collection of precise intelligence and extensive technical and field surveillance, and was carried out with full judicial authorization.

The detainees confessed to their affiliation with ISIS and admitted to participating in multiple attacks against Iraqi security forces, including involvement in the assault on Al-Duluiya district. The suspects have been referred to the judiciary for legal proceedings.
