SDF’s Abdi to announce date for Kurdish National Conference in Syria

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Two senior Kurdish political sources said on Sunday that Mazloum Abdi, Commander in Chief of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), is expected to announce the date of the Kurdish National Conference in Syria today.

A leader and a member of the preparatory committee for the Kurdish National Conference told North Press that Abdi is set to officially announce the conference date within hours.

The preparatory committee held a meeting on Saturday in Hasakah, attended by Abdi, where discussions focused on finalizing arrangements for the long-anticipated conference.

The conference will bring together representatives from the Kurdish National Unity Parties (PYNK), the Kurdish National Council in Syria (ENKS), as well as independent Kurdish parties and figures outside both blocs.

The event aims to unify the Kurdish political vision in Syria, and it is widely expected that participating parties will reach key political agreements.

Abdi, with support from French and American mediators, has led a five-year initiative to foster Kurdish political unity and harmonize their stance on Syria’s future.
