Two armed attacks target SDF in Deir ez-Zor
DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – Unknown gunmen launched late on Monday two separate attacks targeting the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in the Deir ez-Zor countryside, eastern Syria.
A military source told North Press that unidentified gunmen fired rockets at a joint checkpoint manned by the SDF and the Internal Security Forces of North and East Syria (Asayish) at the entrance to the town of Hawaij in eastern Deir ez-Zor.
The attack triggered brief clashes between the two sides, which ended with the attackers fleeing the scene. The incident resulted in material damage to the checkpoint, according to the source.
In a separate incident, two gunmen on a motorcycle opened fire with a machine gun at an SDF military vehicle in the town of Namliya, in northern Deir ez-Zor. The attack caused only material damage and no casualties were reported.
