Israeli airstrike on Lebanon kills 2 people, injures 2 Syrians
DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – An Israeli airstrike on Sunday targeting the town of Zibqin in southern Lebanon killed two individuals and injured two Syrian workers.
According to the Lebanese National News Agency, the airstrike hit an excavator and a nearby vehicle, resulting in the killing of the excavator’s driver and its owner, and injuring two Syrian laborers.
Despite a ceasefire agreement in place since Nov. 27, 2024, the Israeli airstrikes have continued to target areas in southern and eastern Lebanon, with the Israeli military claiming to target Hezbollah positions.
Israeli army spokesperson Avichay Adraee confirmed the operation in a post on X (formerly Twitter), stating that an Israeli Air Force aircraft struck two Hezbollah operatives working on an engineering vehicle in the Zibqin area.
Adraee added that the strike targeted the individuals “while they were attempting to rebuild Hezbollah-related infrastructure.”
