Asayish capture 6 ISIS members in operation in NE Syria’s Roj Camp

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – The Internal Security Forces of North and East Syria (Asayish) arrested six Islamic State members in the Roj Camp in the countryside of Qamishli, northeastern Syria, a source said on Sunday.

A security source involved in the security operation against ISIS sleeper cells in Roj Camp, told North Press that six ISIS members had been arrested.

The source said, “In a joint operation conducted just after midnight on Saturday, the Asayish’s women’s forces and the Women’s Protection Units (YPJ) successfully captured six members of ISIS terrorist cells in one of the camp’s sectors.”

According to the source, the detainees were responsible for maintaining contact with ISIS cells outside the camp and for promoting the group’s extremist ideology among camp residents.

The source added that the operation is expected to conclude by Sunday evening, after which a detailed statement outlining the results will be issued.
