UK official calls on Israel to respect Syria’s sovereignty

DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – A British official emphasized on Friday the need to pursue diplomatic solutions to address regional security concerns, urging Israel to respect Syria’s territorial integrity.

Hamish Falconer, Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for the Middle East, voiced deep concern over recent Israeli airstrikes on multiple locations across Syria, including the capital, Damascus.

He warned that the continuation of such attacks poses a serious threat to Syria’s future, stressing that the country’s stability is vital for the broader stability of the region.

Last week, Israeli warplanes launched a wave of airstrikes targeting military sites in Damascus, Hama, and Homs.

The raids struck several key military positions, including the T4 airbase in the Homs countryside, an airbase near Hama, and military facilities and infrastructure in Damascus—among them, the Scientific Research Center in the Barzeh neighborhood.
