AANES denies oil well handover to Syria’s government
RAQQA, Syria (North Press) – A senior official in the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) refuted on Wednesday reports about transferring control of oil wells to the Syrian caretaker government, calling the claims “inaccurate.”
Speaking to North Press, the official confirmed that “this information is false, and work is still ongoing to establish committees responsible for negotiations with Damascus.”
The official emphasized that no agreement regarding oil well handover has been implemented, adding that coordination efforts with the Syrian government are focused on forming specialized committees to address unresolved issues, including the oil and fuel sectors.
However, he clarified that these committees are still in the process of being formed, and no concrete steps have been taken toward executing any oil-related agreements.
