Jordanian forces apprehend 2 people attempting to cross from Syria
DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – The General Command of the Jordanian Armed Forces announced on Sunday that it had thwarted an attempt by two individuals to illegally cross into Jordan from Syrian territory.
According to Jordan’s Al-Mamlaka channel, a military official from the General Command stated that the Northern Military Region intercepted the infiltration attempt within its jurisdiction.
The two individuals were apprehended as they attempted to cross the international border illegally. They have been handed over to the relevant authorities, the source added.
Meanwhile, in a separate development, Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman al-Safadi, in a phone call with his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araqchi, emphasized the importance of halting attacks on Syria and adhering to the 1974 disengagement agreement.
