HASAKAH, Syria (North Press) – The preparatory committee for the Kurdish conference in northeast Syria called on Wednesday for the Kurdish National Council (ENKS) parties to join the initiative, aiming to create a unified political platform representing all Kurdish factions in the region.

The committee’s statement follows a meeting between the ENKS and the Democratic Union Party (PYD) on Tuesday, where both sides described discussions as “positive” and confirmed that key political disputes had been addressed.

In its official statement, the preparatory committee emphasized that the recent dialogue between the ENKS and PYD marked a crucial step toward resolving internal Kurdish disagreements. “Given the progress made in yesterday’s meeting, and noting the ENKS’s statement that differences have been settled, we invite ENKS parties to join the preparatory committee for the upcoming Kurdish conference,” the statement read.

The conference aims to bring together all political parties in northeast Syria, alongside representatives from civil society organizations and independent figures, to formulate a shared political vision for Syrian Kurds.

The committee stressed that holding the conference soon is a priority and that the goal is to produce a unified document endorsed by all Kurdish political and social actors. “This document will reflect the will of the Kurdish people in North and East Syria,” it stated.

The statement underscored the importance of Kurdish political unity in the current regional context, calling on all factions to set aside differences and work collectively toward ensuring Kurdish rights and political representation in Syria.

“The current stage demands the highest levels of responsibility and cooperation,” the committee declared, urging all Kurdish actors to focus on collective interests rather than internal rivalries.

The appeal aligns with broader efforts by the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) to maintain regional stability and secure Kurdish political interests amid ongoing geopolitical shifts in Syria.

As discussions continue, the success of this initiative will depend on whether Kurdish parties can overcome past divisions and agree on a joint political strategy that strengthens their role in Syria’s evolving landscape.
