Israeli forces advance into Syria’s Quneitra

QUNEITRA, Syria (North Press) – Israeli forces advanced on Wednesday into a former military site previously held by the Syrian regime in Quneitra, southern Syria.

A local source told North Press that Israeli forces moved into the Abu Darwish military outpost near the town of al-Nasseriya, approximately six kilometers from the Golan border. They proceeded to demolish all structures within the site and removed the surrounding earthen berms.

According to the source, around 50 military vehicles participated in the operation, including tanks, bulldozers, and troop carriers transporting dozens of soldiers.

The incursion was reportedly preceded by reconnaissance aircraft conducting aerial surveillance over the area, with drone activity continuing for two hours after the operation ended.

The source also noted that Israeli forces had reinforced their presence at newly established military positions in Quneitra on Tuesday, coinciding with local residents’ celebrations marking the 14th anniversary of the Syrian uprising.
